12/02/2011 update:

Putting aside battery life which is not so much of a problem for me. My runs are up to 1 hour long.

There are interface shortcomings. Here are examples:

1. The device has a big screen, yet lots of data is displayed with a small font. You can see on the picture: red runner's silhouette takes the whole screen, exercise time only 10% of the screen. The font is very difficult to read at night, especially while running.

2. The device doesn't recognize well touch/tap vs. drag. Difficult to control during exercise. The control should be done with edge-to-edge swipes, instead of current touch/tap and drag. Screen lock is needed.

3. MotoACTV has a large screen, but often information you need is not on the screen. For example, when you compete against your previous run, it is not clear what is previous time/pace, and what is current time/pace, are you ahead or behind.

4. GPS functionality - complete minimum. No waypoints, no routes, no home, no compass.

5. Potential Android functionality - complete minimum. No calendar, no calculator, no weather etc etc

Before 12/02/2011

I am a fitness outdoor runner, a few miles per day, a few days per week.

I needed a single device that would provide some running statistics (time, distance, calories), entertainment (mp3, radio), and ability to archive results. Actually, MotoACTV does all this plus some additional nice features.

You can customize the device by selecting what metrics you want to see on your exercise screen. There are plenty to chose from: different times, speeds, paces, heart rate, calories, steps etc. There are some other customizations but not as important to me.
GPS lock takes below 1 minute. After that I can start my running. The screen WORKS WELL IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT as well as at night. Major device functions are controlled by physical buttons (start/stop exercise, start/stop/skip music).

A great feature is that you can actually see your route on a mini-map.
After you finish your exercise, you can download it to the website with a single click on the screen. Simple and automated process. The website has so much functionality.

Pros:
1. Great screen readable in direct sunlight and at night,
2. Quick GPS lock,
3. Fitness and entertainment (mp3, radio) functionality in one device,
4. Great website where you can analyze your workout,
5. Different types of exercises,
6. WiFi, BT, Ant - all connectivity options you may want,
7. Physical buttons for frequent features.

Cons:
0. Same calories burned for downhill and uphill running. Elevation changes are available from GPS, but ignored. How can I trust this device? Considering returning the device because of this error.
There are some interface shortcomings, for example,
1. I cannot see current time on the main exercise screen. It is a problem for me. I run during lunch breaks and I want to know current time (time of day). I think it is very reasonable expectation. (Fixed in the recent upgrade)
2. I cannot see current time or exercise time/distance on the music screen,
3. I would like to lock the touchscreen when in exercise. I often hold the device in my hand and accidentally touch the screen. As a result, it jumps all over the interface.
4. Provided headphone cable a little short,
5. Audible feedback too low volume. Impossible to hear with loud music, wind, and busy street.
6. Doesn't recognize well touch vs. drag,
7. Expensive accessories,
8. Expensive device.
