This review is from: Porter-Cable PC600JS 6 Amp Orbital Jig Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm updating my review from earlier after using this for a year and a half or so. The tool is comfortable and the blower works well keeping the cutting area free of dust but there are a couple of issues for me which have become deal-breakers.
The motor is less powerful than the similar products from Bosch, DeWalt, etc. You will bog the saw down on thick material worse than the competition. Granted, this saw is significantly less expensive and I can live with that trade-off. If you regularly cut thicker or harder material (1"+) you might want something more powerful.
Secondly, the blade is not aligned with the body (ie not straight). I originally thought maybe mine was a fluke, but I've seen the same comment in magazine jigsaw comparisons. This wasn't that annoying originally but has become more over time. This issue means you can't use a guide for straight cuts. In the end the two issues are annoying enough that I will be replacing this saw.
