This review is from: Benchmade Osborne Mini Barrage Knife (Misc.)
Overall, the benchmade 585 is the best assisted opening knife I own. The Kershaw speed safe mechanism might be a little quicker, but the mini barrage has a much sturdier lock up. There is virtually no side to side play, which is often present in assisted opening knives (like the SOG Flash series for example). This knife opens with a force you wouldn't expect in a 3 inch blade, and the safety switch is a welcome feature for keeping the knife in either an open or a closed position. I would have preferred G10 handles over the Valox, which doesn't have much grip, but it isn't much of a complaint. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a quality EDC assisted opener.
