So far this car seat has worked very well for us. One of the main reasons we chose it was because you can adjust the straps taller than any of the other car seats in the store. That's important to consider if your child is tall. I would suggest going to the store, putting your child in the car seats, and finding the one that gives him/her the most room to grow (vertically). Adjusting and installing are pretty easy.

We have used the seat in the airplane (Southwest), and it fit just fine. The cup holders are placed beyond the armrests of the airplane seat, so you don't need to worry about those being too wide for the seat to fit.
