Infinity Reference 6032cf 6.5-Inch 180-Watt High-Performance Two-Way Speakers (Pair) (Electronics) These speakers will out-perform any other brand, generally, of the same size for under $100. I cannot recommend anyone to ever buy these, though. I'll tell you why. Infinity sells a set of Infinity Kappa 6.5 on this very site for only $20 more. The improvements are very substantial. The Kappas have Infinity's special glass-fiber woofer cone. I did a side-by-side comparison to eliminate the change for the placebo-effect to taint my judgment, and the Kappa's mid-range just seemed a little sweeter and had more fidelity. The bass that the Kappa's produces also seemed more musically accurate. Some speakers produce bass in a more punchy way. Some people prefer this type. The Kappa's have a richer tonality and a smoother, more accurate bass reproduction. The Kappa's also have a different tweeter. The tweeter is vastly superior to the Reference tweeter sound-wise, but isn't just because of the tweeter itself. The Kappa has a computer-controlled cross-over that blurs the line between coaxial and component speakers in terms of sound quality. The Reference just have the typical capacitor wired in. Capacitors work just fine, and they're what you have to expect for this price-point, but for $20 more, the computer-controlled cross-over is a no-brainer. A huge advantage about the more advanced cross-over is the low-pass on the woofers. All the higher frequencies on the Reference speakers come through the woofer and can come across distorted at higher volumes. Again, this is not a problem with the Kappas. I'd like to add that both speakers had a more than reasonably break-in--I've actually had the Kappas longer. I realize this isn't a review for this particular product, but the Kappas are everything these are and more. I'd highly suggest spending the extra $20 and reaping all the benefits.

I am very familiar with radar being a commercial pilot. I've owned radar detecting equipment off and on for 32 years. This is the most sophisticated highly sensitive unit I've owned and its easy to set up and operate. Its mounted on my dash since I cant reach the windshield from the drivers seat. The radar detector performs great. It has many features to reduce false alerts. I like the intellimute feature. It senses your RPMS and mutes the sound up to a preset RPM that you have entered, plus speed alerts you can preset. Mine is set at 75. It will chime and says "speed alert" if speed is exceeded, very handy and shows your speed when alerting. It has picked up state troopers in town blocks away, plenty of time to adjust your speed. The screen is visable in bright daylight, but I use the blackout feature which it goes dark after a preset time you enter but it will light back up upon a radar/gps signal. The icons can be set to different colors (green blue red orange or multi) to match your dash light colors. You can tell if its a false hit because it will only read out KA band, but a police radar hit will show the frequency he is using. The touch screen is priceless. Just a touch of an icon will change a feature and is very easy to change settings on the go, and the red-light/speed camera/speed trap detection is indispensible. As I was driving the interstate on a camp trip the Cobra 9970G alerted (caution speed trap area). Right after it alerted I looked over at the oncoming lanes and a state trooper had someone pulled over with lights flashing. This thing really works. The AURA Database is constantly updated every 12 hours and is free with the purchase of the 9970G. You can also manually set different alert locations up to 1000 of them. I usually set it up for school zones. It will alert you well ahead of them.

Because I'm a tight-wad, I sorted by price vs. shipping and chose Empire. I completely expected to get what I paid for and just have to deal with a cheap, lame cradle - WRONG!!! I am nothing but pleased with this thing for these reasons...1) The suction cup is STRONG. I know this because my windshield is DIRTY. The cradle's been installed for weeks and it hasn't budged. I didn't even have to lick it! ^_~2) The bendy arm is remarkably TIGHT. It holds my droid exactly where I want it - no re-adjusting AT ALL.3) The clamp part is just plain cool. a) It's wide enough accept and squeezes in to fit any phone. b) Has little swing out feet to support the phone in the vertical position. c) The ratchetting system for vert/hor positioning is TIGHT - NO SAG! d) The clamp and release action is smooth. e) The clamp arms are angled inwards, so if you've got volume buttons (or whatever) on the side of your phone, don't squeeze the clamp so hard - it'll nicely hold your phone without pushing your buttons! (pun intended) e) One-handed operation. Phone, squeeze, drive. Park, phone, leave. No fiddling at all!4) I drive a minivan (What? I got 3 kids and a HOT wife!), so the windshield is really deep. The bendy arm is long enough to reach where it's out of my line of sight - no obstruction. Was worried about that. Now I'm not.5) Very easy to assemble. Honestly, it took me longer to remember that I had to assemble the thing than it did to actually assemble the thing.***** FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY *****
