Offering absolute precision in the palm of your hand, the ProStaff 550 employs Nikon's advanced Tru-Target ranging system, which lets users prioritize smaller and harder-to-range lone targets at the push of a button. As a result, it's easier than ever to range objects as small as fence posts, or get an instant read on that lone buck in the meadow. The unit also relies on Nikon's advanced ID technology to compensate for various incline or decline shooting angles--up to an incredible plus-or-minus 89 degrees (nearly vertical up or down). And thanks to Nikon's digital measurement processor, you'll enjoy speedy 1/2-yard accuracy within 99.5 yards, and 1-yard accuracy from 100 to 550 yards. On the other end of the spectrum, the unit can range as close as 11 yards, so you aren't restricted to long-distance targets only.

Add in such features as 6x multicoated optics, an eyeglass-friendly 18mm of eye relief, a continuous measurement mode, 100-percent waterproof and fogproof construction; and a maximum measurement of 733 yards and you have a comfortable, powerful range finder that leaves its competitors in the dust.

This review is from: Nikon 8370 Prostaff 550 Laser Rangefinder (Team Realtree) (Sports)
When I shopped for this item the information regarding the item was incorrect. I bought the range finder believing the info that stated this range finder adjusted for elevation. It does not. I returned the item and informed the supplier and Amazon . It took a few e-mails but they corrected the Technicial Detail section and it took over two weeks but I did get my money back.
If you want a flat line range finder this is a great unit. Simple to operate and quick to give you feed back information. If you hunt from a tree stand or in the mountains it may not be what you are looking for in a range finder.
