About Exercise Bikes Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

This review is from: Stamina 1300 Magnetic Resistance Upright Bike (Sports)
I purchased this bike to suppliment my gym membership since I am a big fan of spinning, but I can only make about two classes per week at the gym. This bike is a perfect fit for my goals! It is COMPLETELY silent and that's fabulous since I like to ride in the early mornings when everyone is sleeping. The display is large, and the distance, time, and speed stats are very accurate. The calories are of course wrong because there is no way to enter your weight and read your pulse rate, but I have a stat watch I use for that information. Overall I am MORE than impressed with the purchase! I'd read some reviews stating the seat was uncomfortable, but I think that complaint is common with anyone not firmiliar with spinning. As my instuctors told me, it gets better after the first ride, and honestly, I found the seat to be very comfortable in comparison with a gym quality spin bike.
