The DMP-BDT100 joins Panasonic's DMP-BDT300 and DMP-BDT350 Blu-Ray players in providing superior 2D and 3D picture quality, as well as VIERA CAST internet functionality, support for a wide variety of standards, video upconverting, re-sampling and remastering of audio at 96 kHz, and other great features. The BDT100 outputs stunning and immersive Full HD 3D imagery to compatible HD displays. Panasonic's GT25 series 3D HDTVs, for example, allow images for each eye to be alternately reproduced at the rate of 60 frames per second (fps), making a total fps for both eyes. Viewers watch the images through high-precision 3D Eyewear (not included), which opens and closes the left and right shutters in synchronization with the alternating images. As a result, a separate 1920 x 1080 full-HD image is sent to each eye. This addresses the image quality problems and blurring that were common to earlier 3D systems, and creates sharp, crisp 3D images.

Wide Format Support

The BDT100 player outputs full 3D HD, handles a wide variety of audio standards, and upconverts all standard definition video formats to 1080p, the highest-possible video resolution.

Users can also watch 2D images (JPEG) and movies (AVCHD*2/MPEG2*2) from digital cameras and camcorders via the integrated SD card and USB slot, as well as 3D Content shot by a Panasonic HDC-SDT750 Camcorder.

Serious Audio

The BDT100 will decode Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby TrueHD and DTS/DTS-HD high-resolution audio, with much higher fidelity than CDs and support for up to eight full-range audio channels. Lower quality audio is up-sampled and re-mastered at 96kHz, for rich audio presentation no matter the media format.

With the new P4HD Enhanced full HD upsampling, the standard definition movies in DVD also approaches full HD quality. PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus reproduces color data with twice the accuracy of conventional systems, for distinct borders between colors (left) and details and nuances matching the original movie (right). Full-featured remote included.

Perfect your sound with tools like the Dialogue Enhancer, which increases the center channel volume to make dialogue easier to hear, or Night Surround Mode, which compensates for hard-to-hear surround effects when listening at low volume; or dynamic compression, which evens out soft and loud sounds.

Another great Bluray player but it (like their players in the past) still will not pass 5.1 digital surround sound to my reciever while streaming HD content with 5.1 sound. **All discs work fine**

Amazon points to Panasonic, Panasonic points to Amazon. But its not just Amazon, its other HD streaming providers with 5.1 sound offered too. No 5.1 sound is passed on.

The problem lies with PANASONIC...and they dont care/understand. Too bad, cause I love all their products and will continue using them. But this is a big sore spot with me, 5.1 sound makes all the difference. (You're probably only listening to ProLogic II and not even realize it.)
